One of my favorite thrift stores in my city is called "Family Thrift Outlet".   It is actually a clearance store for items that did not sell in the other Family Thrift Stores.  The adventure begins on Thursdays.  All items (only clothes, shoes, and handbags) start out at $1.75, and each day, the price is lowered a quarter.  Wednesday is the final day where the items are finally a quarter each.  I went once on a Wednesday and will never go again.  Moving your cart through the aisle is impossible.  Way too crowded!  Most other days are better as far as crowds are concerned.

My son is 12 years old and will be 13 this February.  He just went through a growth spurt.  His clothes were quite embarrassing! (to me and his Daddy, at least)  Pants are up to the ankle bone and his shirts are mid-drifts.  He doesnt seem to mind at all?  Well Darn!  I need to go see what is at Family Thrift Outlet!  Since it is mainly play clothes, used clothing works great, and like I said earlier, he could care less!  I found him sweat pants, long sleeve tees, and a couple of Ralph Lauren Polo shirts.  I went on .75 cent day.

I found a few items for resale, so it will be fun to see what I can turn ,75 cents into.  One item are a pair of Bastad clogs from Sweden.  Never had seen this brand before.  I also found a Vintage Polly Flinders Hand Smocked Girls Dress, and my first Blue Fish item.  Lord willing, I will get these items listed really soon, so we can see what can happen to .75 cents!

So, Selling on EBay at the holiday season can be quite exciting!  But for me, it can be very tough too.  I get so busy with the various needs of my family, and it gets tough to get items listed. But I managed to have a few great sales.
There is a small, quaint thrift store that I like to pop into when I have a chance.  It is called "The Green Door".  It is run by some very sweet church ladies who volunteer their time and all monies go to charities.  One day, I went in and found "House of Hatten" Christmas Stockings.  I love House of Hatten items, but not all of the items are worth reselling.  But, somewhere in my mind, I remember the stockings do very well on EBay.  I left and had to return another day to get the stockings.  (I am sure my phone was not charged and could not research the stocking.  My Husband is not surprised)  The stockings had not sold, and I grabbed them and paid around $7.00 for the two .House of Hatten Christmas Stocking.  One sold for 76.00, and the other sold House of Hatten Christmas Stocking Sold for $38.50.  The stockings do well enough in auction and didn't need to go fixed price.  Always love a great bidding war!

Life is an Adventure

I have decided to start a blog.  It has been on my heart for quite a while, but I always had the thought that I really do not need one more thing to do in my life.  I have my fingers in many pies and I guess I just like to talk about all those pies! I am a Pastor's Wife, a Mother to our son, a piano teacher, a choir teacher and an ebay seller.  So there is no telling what I will write about.
